0.3.3
Alpha
Discover servers, a skin manager with skins for offline accounts, a public player profile, Cooldown HUD, Combat FPS, scoreboard and nametags, friends in game, a faster launcher, VulkanMod, better Cinematic Lyrics and stability fixes.
Client
Cooldown HUD: every active item cooldown (ender pearl, chorus fruit, wind charge, shield and event items) with the real remaining time.
Combat FPS: fewer explosion and totem particles, a smaller totem pop and a smaller blocking shield for a smoother fight. No gameplay effect.
Scoreboard and nametags: scale, position, background, score numbers and line limit of the sidebar scoreboard; nametag size, offset, background, shadow and distance fade.
Friends in game: your Flick friends are highlighted in the tab list and nametags, and a party HUD shows friends on the same server.
Skins for non-premium players: pick a skin in the launcher and other Flick players see it in game.
Better Cinematic Lyrics: the correct song is matched much more strictly, the lyrics stay in sync during long listening sessions and are easier to read.
Performance improvements: smoother frame times, less memory churn and a faster game start.
VulkanMod (experimental): an optional renderer you can choose per profile in the launcher, on the Minecraft versions it supports.
Crash fixes, including a native crash in custom sounds.
Discord now shows Flick Client as the game you are playing.
Launcher
Discover servers: a new page with the servers where Flick players and your friends are playing right now.
Skin manager: add, preview and switch skins, also for non-premium accounts.
Public player profile: a shareable page for your player profile on the website, which you can switch on or off in the launcher.
A noticeably faster launcher: it shows its window immediately and starts up quicker.
The launcher never restarts to install an update while a game started from it is running.
Security and stability fixes.
0.3.2
Alpha
Dynamic Island, Cinematic Lyrics, Totem Counter, Color Saturation, hit and damage sounds, favorite servers and friends in the launcher.
Client
Dynamic Island: a pill at the top of the screen that shows what is playing right now (Spotify, YouTube, TIDAL and more) with progress and play, pause and skip controls, plus short activities such as a friend coming online, a message, a totem pop, low durability or a screenshot. Needs the launcher on Windows with "share what I listen to with the game" turned on.
Cinematic Lyrics: the lyrics of the song you are playing float across the sky as big glowing words, in time with the music. Lyrics come from LRCLIB and can be switched off in the launcher.
Totem Counter: see how many totems each player has popped next to their nametag, a totem icon while someone holds one, and your own totem count on the HUD.
Color Saturation: colour grading for the world (saturation, vibrance, contrast, brightness, tint) with Vivid, Cinematic and Mono presets. It does not touch the HUD or menus and costs nothing at neutral values.
Hit and damage sounds: a sound when you hit something and when you take damage, with Flick sounds, vanilla sounds or your own .ogg files.
Training dummy for testing your hits without needing another player.
Friends and Address Hider: when Address Hider is on, your friends no longer see which server you are on.
Better compatibility of Discord status with long server names and hidden addresses.
Launcher
Favorite servers on the home page: add an address, import servers from a profile's multiplayer list, see live ping and player counts.
Friends panel: add friends, see who is in game or in the launcher, accept or decline requests, join a friend's server with one click and receive server invites. You can choose not to show which server you play on. Friends need a Microsoft (premium) account.
Media bridge and lyrics service for Dynamic Island and Cinematic Lyrics. Both can be disabled in settings and nothing is sent anywhere except the lyrics lookup.
Stability fix on the server side for cosmetics updates.
0.3.1
Alpha
Texture reloads without the loading screen, cape options and a royal mantle that is a real cape, plus stability and security fixes.
Client
Seamless texture reload: reloading resource packs (F3+T or changing packs) keeps the last frame on screen with a small spinner instead of switching to the loading screen.
Cape options: choose how your cape is shown from the Cosmetics page of the launcher.
Royal Mantle is now a real cape that sways and follows your movement.
The new wings added earlier are available to everyone who owns them.
Fewer memory leaks: sounds, remote cosmetics and social data are released when you leave a world, so long sessions stay smooth.
Stability fixes around hitboxes and cosmetics loading.
Launcher
Cape options on the Cosmetics page.
Security hardening: stronger protection of the app and of the game start-up path.
Stricter integrity checks on every installer before it is released.
0.3.0
Alpha
Faster startup and world joining, the new Pack Accelerator, Health Indicators, a startup watchdog and a Discord server link.
Launcher
Faster startup: the game runs at a higher priority and repeat launches skip redundant asset checks.
Startup watchdog: if the game hangs while loading, the launcher notices and shows a report that points at the likely cause.
Known-broken mods are flagged when you import a profile, with a suggested Flick alternative (for example Health Indicators).
Terrain loads faster on 4 to 7 core CPUs thanks to tuned Sodium chunk-builder threads.
Flick updates are checked right after you close the game.
Join our Discord: discord.gg/flickit is linked in the launcher.
Client
Pack Accelerator: resource packs load in parallel with faster mipmaps, so reloading packs takes noticeably less time.
Faster world join: classes are preloaded in the background and nearby players’ cosmetics are fetched in one burst after you join.
Health Indicators: a new module that shows hearts above other players’ heads.
The Discord Rich Presence has a “Join Discord” button and the title screen links to the Discord server.
Leaving a world now frees its memory sooner (combat target and cosmetic animation state are released).
Cosmetics and points
The halo cosmetic was removed; Flick Points spent on it were refunded automatically.
0.2.5
Alpha
Profile share codes now carry your whole setup, a fixed copy button, and a reworked HUD with a live HUD Style preview.
Launcher
Profile share codes now include everything: your mod list, the mods’ own configs, options.txt and your Flick settings, so a friend gets the exact same setup.
Local mod files are recognised on Modrinth when you import or share a profile.
The copy button now works everywhere and really puts the code on your clipboard.
Dialogs open above everything else and no longer get hidden behind other panels.
Client
Reworked HUD strips and joining: elements snap and attach more reliably, and detaching them is smoother.
The HUD Style editor now shows a preview background, with a switch between a live view and a screenshot.
Fixed armour looking wrong in the HUD sample preview.
0.2.4
Alpha
Share your settings and profiles with a short code, a rebuilt profile menu, a global HUD Style editor, Nick Hider everywhere, a Server Address Hider, an in-game account switcher, Flick Points, a faster launcher and Mod Menu included.
Launcher
Share a profile with a code: copy a short code, or export a .flickprofile file, and add a friend’s profile with "Add from code".
Rebuilt profile menu with tabs, a Mods button and a ⋯ menu for the less common actions.
Flick Points: earn them by logging in every day and by playing, and spend them on cosmetics. Your balance and history are in the launcher.
Faster start: the launcher opens noticeably quicker.
Instant updates: new versions are found right away, and the launcher restarts cleanly to install them.
Mod Menu is now included, so Flick shows up in its list with a Configure button.
Client
Settings share codes (flick-XXXXXX): share your whole setup with a friend and import theirs from the share screen.
New global HUD Style editor: choose one look for all HUD elements.
Nick Hider now also covers the scoreboard and every other place your name is shown.
New Server Address Hider for streaming and recording.
In-game account switcher: change accounts from the main menu and from the multiplayer screen without restarting the game.
Flick Points and their shop are also available in the cosmetics menu.
Website
New Mods page listing every module and the bundled mods.
The online server list is fixed: it shows the top 50 servers and stays fresh.
Smoother scrolling and fewer lag spikes on the pages.
0.2.3
Alpha
Import your profiles from the Ogulniega launcher, smarter mod detection during import, a lighter mod without Minimap and World Map, and a better HUD editor.
Launcher
New import from the Ogulniega launcher: profiles are brought over per Minecraft version with their mods checked for compatibility. Ogulniega’s own client mod and the IAS account manager are skipped, and your accounts and tokens are never copied.
Better mod detection when importing from any launcher: MixinExtras provided by Fabric Loader, libraries bundled inside a mod and mods that provide other mod ids are now recognised, and version ranges such as ~26.2- or >=26.2-rc.1 are read the way Fabric reads them. The import summary groups skipped mods by reason.
Client
Minimap and World Map were removed from the mod, which makes it lighter in the background. Waypoints stay.
HUD editor: gear icons now scale together with their element.
HUD editor: elements snap to each other and can be joined into strips. Hold Alt to detach an element, hold Ctrl to turn snapping off.
0.2.2
Alpha
Perspective now has a scroll-wheel camera distance, a new Boss Bar module, a title-position fix and two new cosmetic sets: Abyss Diver and Dragon Egg Warden.
Client
Perspective (hold F4) now zooms the camera out with the scroll wheel, from 1 to 64 blocks. This replaces the separate Camera Distance module, so F5 is back to vanilla behaviour.
New Boss Bar module: change the scale, move it in the HUD editor, hide it or use compact spacing. The boss bar is now kept on screen.
Fixed: a /title message stays centred when you drag it in the HUD editor.
Cosmetics
New set Abyss Diver: Diver’s Lure Helm, Abyssal Trident and Bathysphere Pack.
New set Dragon Egg Warden: Dragon Warden’s Helm, Ember Dragon Crook and Dragon Hatchery Pack.
Also new: the Alchemist set and a redesigned Frost Circlet and Frost Scepter.
0.2.1
Alpha
Fixed launcher auto-update, a new “Update now” button with download progress, Settings → About, plus two new client modules: Shulker Preview and Title Customization.
Important
If you are on 0.1.x or 0.2.0, install 0.2.1 manually once from the Download page. Those versions can download updates but cannot install them (the bug fixed in this release). From 0.2.1 on, updates install automatically when you close the launcher, or right away with the “Update now” button.
Launcher
Fixed launcher auto-update: install-on-quit was never armed, because the updater registered its quit handler before our asynchronous signature check finished. Updates are still signature-verified before they are installed.
New “Update now” button in the sidebar and on a banner on the home screen, with download progress.
Settings → About with a “Check for updates” button and the updater log.
Client
New Shulker Preview module: hold Shift to preview the contents of a shulker box.
New Title Customization module: scale and position of /title, subtitle and action bar messages.
0.2.0
Alpha
Profile import from other launchers, Minecraft 26.3 support, View Model presets, smoother zoom, F5 camera distance on the scroll wheel and smarter crash detection.
Launcher
Import profiles from Dawn Client, the official Minecraft launcher, Modrinth App, CurseForge, Prism / MultiMC or any folder. Every imported mod is vetted before it is kept.
Better crash detection: the launcher recognises a mod built for the wrong Minecraft version and offers “disable and play” to start the game without the culprit.
The home screen shows the real launcher version.
Client
Minecraft 26.3 is supported (>=26.3 <26.4), signed and hosted like the other versions.
View Model presets: small items, Classic 1.8 and hide off-hand.
Smooth zoom with new options.
New Camera Distance module: change the F5 third-person distance with the scroll wheel, up to 64 blocks, with an optional no-collision mode.
0.1.0
Alpha
First public release of Flick Client: a launcher for Windows and macOS (beta) and an in-game client for Minecraft 1.21.4 → 26.2.
Launcher
Any number of Microsoft (premium) and offline accounts, switchable in one click. Microsoft sessions refresh on their own.
Profiles with their own Minecraft version, mods, worlds and settings (RAM, window size, JVM arguments). Several can run at once.
Built-in Modrinth browser for mods, resource packs and shaders, with automatic dependencies and checked downloads.
Mod update check per profile with a one-click “Update all”.
Renderer per profile: Auto, OpenGL or Vulkan (experimental, Minecraft 26.2).
The right Java runtime is downloaded for every version automatically. A custom Java path is optional.
The Flick mod is hosted on our update server: the launcher downloads only the versions you play and checks their signature, so mod updates arrive without a new installer.
Optional performance pack installed with Fabric API: Sodium, Lithium, Entity Culling, More Culling, ImmediatelyFast, FerriteCore and BadOptimizations. A mod you remove stays removed.
Faster installs and launches: parallel downloads (48 at once by default), sign-in and file checks run side by side, and the selected profile is pre-warmed on the home screen.
Signed automatic launcher updates on Windows.
Desktop shortcuts that start a profile directly, a game console with tokens scrubbed from the log, and an automatic GPU compatibility mode after repeated GPU crashes.
Java flags tuned to your hardware (ZGC with 6+ GB and 6+ cores, tuned G1 otherwise), unless a profile sets its own.
Client modules & PvP
Right Shift opens the HUD editor: drag with snapping guides, scroll to scale, arrow keys to nudge, Ctrl+Z to undo. The glass mod menu with search and profiles is one click away.
HUD widgets: FPS, CPS, Keystrokes, Armor Status, Potion Effects, Coordinates, Ping, Clock, Server Address, Memory, Saturation and a Performance panel.
PvP: Target HUD, Reach Display, Combo Counter, Hit Color per target type, Hitbox Customizer, 1.7 Animations and Low Fire.
New combat modules: Hit Sounds (your own .ogg files work too), Swing Animations, Totem Pop counter, Hit Bubbles, Hit Marker and Damage Numbers.
Target ESP: Frame, Ring, Spiral, Corners, Box and Ghosts styles sized to the hitbox, with a target card and combo counter. Seeing through walls is off by default.
Kill Effects that only you see: Combo, Lightning, Starburst, Shockwaves, Pillar of Light, Fireworks or Random.
Camera and movement: Zoom, Freelook, Perspective (F4 orbit camera), Toggle Sprint, Fullbright and Hurt Cam.
Utilities: Auto GG, Nick Hider, Chat Tweaks (timestamps, merged repeats, click to copy) and Screenshots with copy, open and delete buttons in chat.
New glass tab list with heads, ping and Flick badges. The vanilla style is one switch away.
Visuals
Jump Circles (Neon, Wave, Runes, Sparks), Trails, China Hat and Aura, with color palettes including Rainbow and a choice of who sees them.
Trajectories for bows, crossbows, tridents, pearls, snowballs, eggs, splash potions and XP bottles, with a landing marker.
Ambience moods for sky and fog, and Glint Color for enchanted items and armor.
Block Outline: thickness, corners only, rainbow, fill, see-through and a new glow.
Color Saturation and Motion Blur post-effects. The HUD and menus are left untouched.
Crosshair editor, Aspect Ratio, ViewModel, Item Physics, Inventory Blur, Clear Water, Time Changer and Weather Changer.
All new effects use the game’s own render pipelines, so they look the same on OpenGL and Vulkan.
Cosmetics & social
Cosmetics screen with a rotatable 3D preview: hats, backs, held items, pets, capes and whole sets.
Capes, including animated ones, are synced between Flick players and also show on the elytra. Elytra style: Original, Cape pattern or Flick 3D wings.
3D cosmetics stream from the server in the background and are cached.
Friends: requests by nickname, online status and current server, direct messages and one-click server invites (press J to join).
Emote wheel on G: Wave, Dance, Sit, Clap, Bow, Facepalm, Dab and Point, visible to other Flick players.
Flick badge next to other Flick players in nametags and the tab list.
Discord Rich Presence with your version, server (can be hidden) and play time.
Performance
Shorter loading screen: the vanilla fade (about 2 s) is now a 300 ms crossfade. Median cold start to the title screen on 26.2: 18.2 s → 15.9 s.
Cosmetics screen fills in fast: all icons in 492 ms instead of 8,685 ms (26.2, 59 cosmetics, first open).
Server Models (on by default) for servers full of display-entity models. Benchmark scene on 26.2 with 800 display entities and armor stands, median FPS in the open field: 12 with vanilla and the same mods, 38–41 with Flick.
Merging repeated chat messages no longer re-wraps the whole chat: 10.1 ms → 0.04 ms per repeat (26.2, 1,000 messages).
Joining a server by IP skips the reverse DNS lookup, which took up to 9.6 s for a LAN address without a PTR record.
Many 3D cosmetics on screen cost far less (batched drawing, occlusion culling, LOD): 1.67 → 0.10 ms of CPU per frame with 50 players in heavy sets (1.21.4).
Dynamic FPS: 30 FPS in the background, 2 FPS minimized and 15 FPS after 3 minutes idle. The game keeps ticking normally.
Fast Chest draws chests as static models. HUD widgets allocate nothing per frame, and disabled modules cost almost nothing.
Fixed Sodium’s “configuration file corrupted” error on Windows.
The presence connection reconnects within 1–10 s and detects silently dropped connections.
Security
Your Microsoft password is typed only into Microsoft’s own window. Tokens are encrypted with DPAPI on Windows or the Keychain on macOS and never stored in plain text.
Mod downloads and launcher updates are accepted only with a valid Ed25519 signature and a matching hash and size.
Hardened launcher: main process shipped as V8 bytecode, Electron fuses, asar integrity checks, sandboxed renderer and no DevTools in release builds.
No secrets ship in the launcher or the mod, and every release goes through a leak scan.
Premium nicknames are verified with Mojang, so nobody can pose as you. Offline accounts get free cosmetics only.
Cosmetic downloads need a short-lived per-player token and have a download budget.
Unknown or revoked client builds keep free features, lose paid cosmetics and are asked to update.
Server API (for server owners)
FlickServerAPI plugin for Paper 1.21.x (Java 21). Behind Velocity or BungeeCord, install it on each backend server.
Detect Flick players along with their client version, Minecraft version and enabled modules.
Turn chosen modules off on your server, globally or per world. Players see them as disabled by the server. The COMPETITIVE preset covers Target ESP and Trajectories.
Send waypoints with color, icon, beam, expiry and remove-on-arrival (up to 200 per player).
Glass toast notifications and custom Discord Rich Presence text for your server.
Ask the client for its mod list, with an optional kick-if-mods setting.
No-code config.yml, /flick list | info | reload commands, and a Java API with FlickAPI.get() and join/quit events.
Open protocol v1 on the flick:api plugin channel for servers that do not run Paper.
Safe by design: servers cannot run code, open links or touch files, accounts or cosmetics, and everything resets when the player leaves. Players can turn the API off. It is not an anti-cheat.
